From Chapter 3
At once he felt a deep sense of inner peace. He wasn't really sure what it was, but for some reason he felt that everything would be fine for him and the young girl. Suddenly a big gust of wind swept the boat off course and the boat sailed down the Gulf at a fast rate of speed. Everyone started screaming as the boat picked up speed. People stood up and moved around but that only made the boat more unstable. The swift current caught the boat and it ran straight into some rocks. The boat quickly shattered and everyone was thrown into the water. Antonio grabbed his bag tightly and desperately struggled to stay above the water.
From Chapter Thirteen
While they waited Rico went out to the parking lot and went home to get some clothes for her. He arrived back in her room fifteen minutes later. A few minutes after he had returned the doctor came in. He smiled at Maria and sat down in the other chair. His face was grim.
"The good news is that your injuries should heal well. I've got to do an operation on your ribs and you won't be able to do anything but rest for a couple of weeks. The bad news is that the pregnancy test I did on you came back positive. You’re four weeks pregnant."
