From December 2010-Summer 2011
December 15, 2010
Today I registered for my first quarter classes. I earned a 4 on my English Placement Test which places me into First-Year English Composition. However when I went to register it in the computer I found out that it was full. I am number six on the waiting list, so I am supposed to go to the classroom on January 3, 2011 and see if a spot is open for me. I think I will just wait for Spring Quarter to start. My math class is also full. As I received a “T” on my Math Placement Test I need to go into Precollege Mathematics 1 which is elementary algebra. I was never any good at math in school.
I met a girl today during lunch. She is majoring in International Business. It was the first time I have ever really had a conversation with someone who did not attempt to avoid me. I am kind of surprised that I opened up so easily with her. Maybe she will become a friend of mine, though I do not think we will see each other unless we both end up in the same math class. She also ended up in Math 50 which is Precollege Mathematics 1.
Orientation was a bit annoying to me. Scheduling classes was the last thing of the day and the pizza they ordered was greasy. We had to wait around ten minutes or so because the pizza was late in getting to the Warner Center and hardly anybody went for seconds. I have three blisters on my feet because I am not used to walking for such a long period of time or maybe it is because my boots are still new. I am taking sixteen credits this quarter. One class is required of all incoming freshmen in their first quarter and the rest are general education courses.
